I recently purchased 2 1g bov's for my 2nd gen tsi. the first one i bought cause i thought i needed the pipe it came with. the second one looked better and was the one i planned on putting in my car(which it is currently installed. I tested out the first bov too, but didnt have it in there long enough to notice anything abnormal). The thing is, when i got them, i realized they are different. Both of these were bought off of ebay.
The first one has the traditional greenish top, with the vacuum nipple and the vent port facing the same direction. It's model number is K5T09272. This is the 1g bov ive most commonly seen in pictures.

The second one has a silver top(could have been painted), but has the vacuum nipple on the opposite direction of the vent port. Also the vacuum nipple is bent up and a little to the left(not sure if that was how it came, or due to damage). The model number on this one is K5T09472. The seller claimed that this bov came off a Nissan Skyline, and although i cannot confirm that, it could be possible.(sorry about the picture quality)

Besides the color, vacuum nipple direction, and model number, they seem to be exactly the same. Ever since i put the skyline bov on i can hear it blow off even at low acceleration, although it is very quiet. whats wierd is that it sounds kinda like a bird chirping(might just be my ears, but it does sound different). But at hard acceleration, it sounds normal. Is it that the stock 2g bov is just not loud enough to be heard at slow accel, or is this valve defective? And whats the difference between the skyline one and the regular dsm bov? Which one should i go with?
