1G Differences in spoilers? (Eclipse)

Hey guys,

I have a 1ga gsx 1990. The middle section piece of my spoiler has started to break and is beginning to slip off.

I bought a replacement middle section, however it’s off of a 1gb 92-94 gsx.

Is there a difference on these? They look about the exact same to me.

I know the spoilers on the 1g talons differ from 1ga to 1gb for sure, but I wasn’t sure for the eclipse gsx.

I have my laser and two 1gb talons, I can compare when I get home. Not sure if the 1ga gsx is the same as the 1ga laser, but I suspect they are, so I can compare to the 1gb at least

afaik, only 1gb lasers had wings, and they were more like a gvr4 one than a talon/eclipse.

My 90 laser has a wing. While it could be an add on, it looks like it's all factory installed.

For reference, the talon 1gb talon wing is definitely different from the laser, and the 1ga laser and GSX center wings look identical as far as I can see from pics etc.

In fact the 1ga and 1gb wings look identical to me.

Just the center section? I'm aware the side pieces are different, we're trying to determine if the center piece is the same or not.

ASA only shows one part number for the 1G GSX wing. It never offers a differentiation between model years.

Right - MB631121

The 1G 2.0L FWD models show an additional option for a center piece, MB631122 for what appears to be the 1993 model year. All other years use the same center section as the GSX and all 1G 2.0L FWD models with a wing show as the same part numbers as above for the sides.

I believe the are different size and different attachment style entirely. The parts catalogue (for talon/laser) shows two different models of wing, depending on rear wiper option for 90-91.MB631123 With and MB631122 without. It has a series of struts that screw into the actual fiberglass wing, with wedge inserts that mate with screw attached to the trunk sheet metal. Two of the clips are actually house nuts, and bolts are inserted from inside the trun lid. The 92-94 lists the wing as MB881301. I’m not as familiar with the attachment, but no struts shown for parts. It also looks visibly distinct, not extending forward all the way to the liftgate glass trim, like the 1ga.
