hi, what are the technical differences between a mitsubishi eclipse gs-t built in 1989, a plymouth laser rs turbo built in 1990 and a laser rs turbo built in 1991? what are the technical differences (engine, ecu, electrics, etc.)?

are there any disadvantages to buy a 1989 model than one from 1990 or 1991?

turbo DSMs are rare in europe and i found a 89 gs-t and a 91 rs turbo. the gs-t has 64k miles with a rebuilt turbo, enginem clutch, timing-belt, brakes and nearly everything. the rs turbo has nothing rebuilt and has around 80k miles on the clock. both are 5spd and have the same price.

thank you for your help...

If I had a choice, I would tend to stay away from a 90 (89). They are the bastard year and a little more difficult to find parts for. On the other hand, there's a pretty good chance it'll have an Eprom ECU. I would worry about the differences too much, just go for the car that looks to be in better shape.
And a side note, a rebuilt engine doesn't mean crap if you don't know who did it and if they did it right. I know from experience on that one.

is 89 and 90 complete the same? because the earliest brochures i find are from 1990?

finding parts for EVERY turbo DSM is difficult in germany.

89-90 should be the same, but most of us are talking USDM cars here. They may have changes for your specific market.

If they are that hard to find then imagine how hard it is to find parts for a 1 year only car.
