Well i figured out my diff is busted. Anyways i can get a used one cheap as im on a budget right now, do i still need to shim a used factory diff?

yea my 96 gst Fwd. I was just wondering if i put a used factory diff in do i NEED to shim it. I will check it for slop, but on other cars i have done when dropping a factory diff in there was no play and the final drive gear lined up perfectly.
