Did they forget to put in the oil squirters??

I just got disassembleing my 6 bolt shortblock, from dsmgraveyard after reading multiple horrible reviews on this forum about the company, combined with first hand expeirence on how slow they like to ship everything out.

I'm not seeing any oil squirters in this block, aren't they inline with the cylinder, pointing up to hit the crown? I see a blank thread next to each cylinder, where I think they screw into, but there's nothing there, or capped off. Are the pathways supposed to be capped off if you remove your squirters? I'm so mad because it even says on my reset,- WITH OIL SQUIRTERS

here's a pic :(

The holes are there, make sure you get the washers also, then call it done.

Awesome ! I really did not want to ship out my shortblock back to them again, can somebody give me any more info about the washers? Can you atleast get some generic with washers from the car parts store?

Use threadlocker on the banjo bolts?

as long as the holes are tapped you should be good

The crush washers are Mitsubishi part number MF660034; there will be two of these per banjo bolt/check valve, which are part number MD050249.

Torque the banjo bolt/check valve to 22-25 ft.-lbs and be done with it. No sealants or thread locker required.

The check valve is the banjo bolt.

Are you going to be reassembling the block?

Well I've never assembled a shortblock before, Ive been trying to find a good how-to-assemble thread on here but I haven't found anything. So I'm probably going to have it.assembled at my local machine shop, since everythings going over there to get checked and cleaned anyways, even though this motors brand new and has never been under a load really.

The check valve is the banjo bolt.

Thanks for the clarification! So do the actual jets just click into place? Or what?

Get a socket i think its 12mm, i just put mine in they screw in. Torque it down done, thats it, nothing else to do.

It's just like any other banjo bolt on your car. What makes this banjo bolt different is the fact it has a check valve that opens at a specific pressure shooting the oil out of the jet whereas other banjo bolts are always open to flow.

The jets themselves are held in place by the banjo bolt/check valve. It would look something like this, sans crush washers on either side of the jet to seal it.
