i have a newly rebuilt motor. since i am the way i am i took the pan off and checked the bearings etc. to put the thrust bearing in i left the main caps a bit loose and gently pried the crank back and forth while tightening them to spec. mainly prying it the way the clutch would normally push the crank. it spins free and the endplay is right at .004 so i think its set ok but id rather make sure before i run the motor in case. this is a 6 bolt block

I just looked at my Chilton manual and it says: thrust bearing clearance 0.002-0.007. Also i posted a video you can watch.
