Did I Make A Mistake....

I came across a wholesale lot today for random cars and there was a 1g eclipse gs but had a 4G63 motor in it ...i guess gs's came with turbo for this year i dunno...but the car had 138,000 miles looked pretty clean....but wouldnt start wouldnt even crank im thinkin the battery was dead but i didnt try to jump it or anyhting but back to the facts....a guy put a bid in for 145 dollars and the next bid is 160 dollars....and i didnt chose to go for it just cus i have to pay off my car....but i was thinkin later 160 for that car and i coulda parted it out on ebay for probably much more....what do you guys think?

all 1g's had the 4g63 engine, just to let you know. So, it was an N/T car.

To correct Liquid, not all 1G's came with the 4g63. Some were equipped with a 1.8 SOHC motor; it's name I can't recall.

To answer his question, most likely you could sell the bare block alone for $160... So yea, it's worth it to part it out if you have space and patience...

My Talon's taught me everything I know about cars (which isn't much, but compared to what I used to know, it is). DSM's tend to make mechanics out of the patient, I suppose.

the talon DL's came with the 1.8L

If i remember correctly, there was a huge debate on whether or not non turbo's came with 4g63's here in the states,.. but thats another argument.

but to answer your question, for < 200 bucks I would have jumped all over that like white on rice

yea the guy that bid on it just wanted it as a junker or w/e...btw i dont kno if i mentioned...it did have a turbo cus i was thinkin of takin that 14b for my car but i said screw it i had the money for the next bid which woulda been 165 and i doubt the guy woulda tried to outbid me but i just didnt feel like havin to deal with it i mean it wouldnt even turn over when u tried to start it so maybe dead battery but didnt mess with it
