Ordered this lock set from Miller Imports since my key only worked in the ignition.

Went to swap the ignition lock today and noticed the new one is a little shorter than the old one (new left old right). Looks like the cylinder at the end is in a different orientation as well.

Is there a difference in years? Or auto vs manual? I told him I needed 2G manual.

EDIT: If the information I saw is correct, looks like he sent me an automatic. Still need help with post #2.

This seems to be the only way I can get that piece seated and now my original lock won’t go all the way in.

I must be doing something wrong.

So you all new key cylinders with a key? I haven’t messed with a 2g ignition cylinder but they’re all very similar in general. If the new one doesn’t work and the pins are the same, you can swap the pins over to your old cylinder. Just be careful they don’t do flying across the room and keep track where each goes.

I spoke to Steve he’s going to exchange the set for me. He sent me a lock set from an automatic. The ignition locks are different.

Still trying to figure out how to put that little piece into the ignition cylinder.
