Did i f$#% up my clutch

I have a stock 91 awd 5 spd and me and my friends where screwing around i launched it once by dumbing the clutch and i got a damn good launch out of it but then i tried to slide it in (never trying that again) basically i just screwed everything up and it just bogged liek crazy and all i could smell was clutch after that it felt really soft.

is this just because it was so hot from me being a moron or could i of really F(&*** something up

I guess I dont have to tell you that doing a 5k dump on a stock clutch makes you an idiot j/p

how does it feel now? does the clutch engage when normally driving? or does it shoot up rev's really quickly whenever you try to engage the clutch?

one launch shouldn't have HURT anything unless the clutch was going to hell already. As long as when the clutch is engaged and you put the pedal to the metal (specifically in 3rd gear or higher) it doesn't slip (i.e. RPMs shoot up and you can't feel power) then it should be fine.

i made the mistake of dumping it at 5G on a stock clutch when i first got my 16G, man i could smell that thing the entire way home !

yeah it drove fine but it felt alot easier to push in idk it just scared me shitless. I tried to "slip" it that time but i f#$#ed it up thats when i coudl smell clutch . i need to learn how to slip it. not the easiest thing to do basically i reved it up slowly let it out waitign for it to grap then let it out but it just barely went at all.

i think i'll stick to GT4 launchs for now untill i learn alot more and bank soem cash so i can have someone replace my clutch when i blow it

get some cash first cause you keep beating it you will burt it up quick. Just tac to like 3 but when you slip out you hit the gas as well. You have no need to wait for the tires to grip because AWD baby

When I first got my 1g GSX I did a 4k launch...car was 100% stock with a clutch with 3k on it....yes stock clutch..and it was done. So I wouldn't do that ever again. Not till you get an aftermarket clutch.

i was told from one of my friends since its competely stock i dont really have to worry about slipping it to much cuz i dont have the power to pull it out of the dig. But alot of ppl make it sound like you want to slip it out at 4 - 45k which i am goin to try but not untill i figure more of this out

The biggest thing is so many ppl say 10 million different things and i'm not sure what to go with also they all have different setups so that doesnt really give it any clear answer either but after more pratice and more money i'm gonna try and slip it around 4 , 45k from now on so the trans isnt under such a load. i'm just way to scared i'm gonna fry my clutch after praticing 2 times
