But yeah, I locked my tires pretty good on both of those corners the first run.

It had better be turbo. don't buy something heavy and underpowered like a non-turbo 3000gt :p

vr4 baby!:thumb:... I'm a little down on hopes for it though. The guy said it has been for sale for a week and there is a bunch of people coming to look at it this week. The soonest i will be able to go see it is next wed.

Yo, way back then, when Gran Turismo came out I remember the 3000GT VR-4 had 4 wheel drive steering, meaning all 4 turned. Is that really true?

Yes, i believe that was an optional thing. But if equiped the back wheels would turn up to like 5 degrees or something like that. Cool stuff. That car was way ahead of its time.

Yeah, the VR4 had four wheel steering. But the back only turned 1.5 degrees. It was more of a gimmick, than anything else.

It was a time when all the japanese cars had all wheel steering. supra, 300zx, event the prelude and the mx-6! the aws doesn't help much except when doing really high speed turns really fast. if you drive one, try switching lanes on the interstate. you really feel the car follow through and not "wiggle" like normal cars. at least this is my experience.

With a heavy, understeery car on an X course, every little bit helps.

^ +1 !!!!

Is everyone who attended the meet on July 12th going to our meet on August 9th?

Do you allow 3000gt's? Or did you want it to be just dsms.... Or are 3kgt's considered dsms?

Well, DSM or Diamond Star Motors refers to the 1G and 2G Eclipses, Talons, and also the 1G Lasers, but as you can see from the pictures on our website other DSM enthusiasts showed up in their non-DSM vehicles.

There's no rules when it comes to who can go to the meets. The only rules are on who can be members of the group based on their car.

Here's a link to our group, DSTA's website:

*nodnod* I was quite pleased to see that Jeremy accepted my invite and brought his Evo.

Jeremy has owned quite a few dsms and from what i hear, he pioneered running a 4g63 on the megasquirt ecu. he is way more of a dsm enthusiast than i am :thumb:.

on another note, 3ks are NOT dsms. dsms were a joint venture between chrysler and mitsu and were all built in normal, il. 3ks were built in japan and imported. aside from that i know i would love to see them show up to our meets. they are like the dsm's big brothers. they use a lot of the engineering inspirations and the engines are even quite similar.

Let's see if I remember correctly... I believe he owned 3 1Gs before the Evo. I hadn't heard that about the Megasquirt ECU, though. I'll have to ask him.

My opinion exactly. I see no problem with 3000GTs showing up, although they are not classified as DSMs. The meets are for DSM enthusiasts, no matter what they drive evo, 3000gt, etc. Keeping the DSMs and non-DSMs in separate groups did make the pictures look better though.:thumb:

The meet to be held on August 9th will now be hosted at the city parking garage that the July 12th meet was hosted at. I apologize for having to relocate.

Be sure to check the DSTA website for all of the details:

I asked, and he verified. He did indeed (with one other) pioneer the use of Megasquirt on a DSM.

My new Baby.
