Lol good times...what car did you come in?

Those turns in the back looked very high speed in the walkthough, but they weren't, as I found out the first 2 laps. I did lock up in both of them, because I don't have abs, but I lowered the front tire pressures and braked earlier and it was all good..

I ended up running a 46.18:thumb:, and I think spaz ran a 46.4.

So much for awd:tease:

I showed up in a white 2006 mustang (v6 if it helps to specify:coy:). Hopefully next year, I'll have a car that I can race at events like that. But it was still fun to watch. My heart about stopped when that roush spun and almost hit that pole.

Anyways, nice times and nice cars.

Although I had to leave early (after we left the parking garage) it was a good turn out. My friend had my camera and was there the whole time so i'll be putting some pics up here in a bit.

so much for dsms, my civic ran a 46.2! it kept up with sax's fwd and was faster than spaz's awd! i was in the red hatch civic a 3 or 4 cars behind sax. i was number 88. (spaz=77, sax=80)

nice! That little thing really moved

Nekoni, can you get me details in how to get into your photobucket album?

Anyone else have pics?

I was surprised at the turnout. Had no idea there was this big of a DSM following in des moines.

:dsm::dsm::dsm::dsm:

I got my pictures up on photobucket as well. My username on there is darigaaz06. There are also some pictures from the 2007 Ohio Shootout and a couple of random pictures. The blurry pictures are because my brother was running the crappy digi cam for the first time in his life.

So much for n00b drivers is probably more like it LOL. You really need to get the talon out, I want to see what you can do with it.

and Denozzo, you should have run anyways, it would have been a great experience. Hopefully I'll see you at the next one.

Hey everyone, who all is going to be going to the Shootout this year in Ohio? I'm going to be doing everything I can to go. I went last year and it was a blast. It takes about 9 or so hours to get there, so I'll be leaving August 15 and returning August 18. If you want to tag along, give me a shout. Hoping to tag along for this next coming meet. Might get lost because I'm an idiot when it comes to following directions if it isn't in downtown Des Moines or Altoona.

Prez - I have 4 albums, they're all private though, not a huge fan of everybody seeing my all of my pictures. I've been meaning to setup a public one...

Twotsi - Just throwing this out there, I hate to say it but the website you made (DMTA) really kinda sucks. If you actually want this thing to get off the ground you're going to need to put a little money into it, get a real domain, probably host a forum based website, you can regain your money by selling shirts and stickers. However I would widen the group base to all types of Mitsubishi instead of specifically DSMs. If you want any help, let me know. I've done some work and followed a lot of different clubs around to see how they operate, how they succeed, and why basically most of them fail. Here are pictures of a German Car Club in town I help out with, almost all of their meets/cruises end up turning into a BBQ which is always a good time (this one ended up being more of a party).

I'm definitely going to the next one. I wonder how my ford ranger would do through the course... (insert sarcasm)

Are you kidding me? You'll be the favorite car/truck there. Just bring a rope so you can tow us as we start dropping like flies.

STFU! But yeah, I locked my tires pretty good on both of those corners the first run.

And Nadir, I told you your car could be faster. FWD is easier than AWD. I'm a RWD guy who learned his racing techniques on FWD, and now drives an AWD. I'm trying to relearn everything here.

Want to trade cars for one run at the next event? I'll show you the what-for.

you did see the chevy s10 run, right? it actually kicked a bit of ass! you should run a ranger! hopefully results are posted relatively quickly.

btw, when the final results come, sax and spaz will have dominated me because of the handicap system they use. i was in sm class so their lower class times will have a better handicap than my sm times. :(

I know it isn't the greatest. It's the first time I personally attempted making it. I've asked Matt (redleader36) if he wanted to take it over and make a better forum based site seeing as that's what he does as his career, but no response yet.

they do provide loaner helmets that you just pick up at the start line before each run. thats what i have been using all year so far.

I read somewhere that you had to be a scca member to get loner helmets?

Anyway you could let me in? I'd like to see if you have anymore of my car? Evo...

Your a weekend member anyway when you run. There is no rule that says you have to be anything to use a loaner helmet. :)

Spaz, I was joking, but...

I wouldn't mind switching cars for a day. That'd be pretty tight, but it'd probably set my lack of driving skills back even farther.ROFL:rolleyes:
