Could someone tell where I would find the OBD II port in my 2g eclipse GST? My eclipse all of a sudden started running horiblly, missing and sputtering, barely drivable. The first mechanic charged me $40 to hook it up to a scanner and told me my fuel pressure regulator sensor was bad, The second mechanic charged me $70 for diagnostics and told me my o2 sensors were bad not my FPR sensor. So I'm done paying for "professional engine diagnostics". Im headed out today to buy a OBD II scanner and code reader. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated

All I can say is WOW! I was starting to wonder a little, and then you all come rushing in with TOP NOTCH information. I both commend and thank you all. This shows the level of enthusiasts that exist on this site, and I will take this information and apply it as soon as possible and also be sure to post back my results.

Thanks!

Wheres the diagnostic port for connecting logger located in a 2g turbo dsm?

Did a search couldnt find it...got a few locations for 1g but nothing else.

I have a 95 ESi and my c/e light came on today (accompanied by a shut down and now long / very rapid crank times before it restarts). I have searched all the previous threads that state that ALL post 94 DSM's are OBDII. The mitsu dealer said that the 96's were the first OBDII cars and I cant find the port anywhere. I have pulled both kick panels on the left side and pulled the lower dash panel under the steering wheel. Ive even looked on the passenger side under dash and behind kick panels. No go. I work for a Volvo dealer so I know what to look for and where but Ive got nothing... Any help would be appreciated.

My 95 TSI build date 10 of 94 is OBDII. the diagnostic port is right where the dash & center console meet on the driver side. just stick you head under the dash with a light and you'll see it.

Thanks for the help. I found it after much frustrating searches and never having a worse cramp in my neck.

ndsti- the plug is actually white in my car and that is how I totally missed it. I was looking for a black plug, like on just about all other cars.

Diagosis- my camshaft sensor came unplugged from rubbing against my CAI. Whoops. :toobad:

^^^^ just like the chrysler dealer said i could't swap bumpers.......
Mine is a 8-94 build, OBDII, under the dash like every one said above, mine did hang down as the old owner broke the tab that holds it, now its mounted towards the center consol for dsmlink :D

My 2G threw on a CEL light, so I went to checker's to have them run a diagnostic scan, but they didn't know where to plug the cord into. I searched under the dash and under the hood but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know?

Mine is to the right of the steering wheel, at the bottom of the dash where it meets the center console. I dont have my car at work so I'm trying to find a pic on the internet I can draw an arrow on.

I found this pic on the net and drew a blue arrow. If its not there then I don't know. :)

I have no idea where my diagnostics port is located. It was to my understanding that it should be on the fuse thing under the dash to the left on the drivers side. But I looked, and there is no port there. I did see what looked like broken plastic on the bottom part of it though. Is this where it's supposed to be?

On the right in the drivers side towards the center console, its sometimes hard to find especially with your fingers you'll have to crawl into your wheel well and look. I also believe it is mounted sideways compared to what I consider to be normal but I don't remember now.

Mork is right, the port is on the right-hand side of the drivers leg area. Should be able to feel it right behind where the lower dash panel ends.
