Diagnostic scan on 2g? [Merged 8-8] OBD II OBDII OBD2 OBD 2 port location where

Could someone tell where I would find the OBD II port in my 2g eclipse GST? My eclipse all of a sudden started running horiblly, missing and sputtering, barely drivable. The first mechanic charged me $40 to hook it up to a scanner and told me my fuel pressure regulator sensor was bad, The second mechanic charged me $70 for diagnostics and told me my o2 sensors were bad not my FPR sensor. So I'm done paying for "professional engine diagnostics". Im headed out today to buy a OBD II scanner and code reader. Any help or insight is greatly appreciated

Should be basically above where your right kee sits, while in the driving position. Its in the corner where the lower front dash panel meets the side panel for the center console. Shouldn't be too hard to miss, if you still your head under there for a look.

I know this is an older thread but maybe someone can help me out so I can start tuning my car the right way. Here is a picture of what I DONT have. It is a 1997 Eclipse spyder non turbo car that I did an engine swap on if that matters. The one plug is there the other is missing does anyone know what the wire colors are or where it could be?

c'mon guys any help, I just searched everywhere for this around where it "should" be and can't find it. I have the side panels off and console out of the car. It is in a 1997 eclipse non turbo spyder. It doesnt make any sense, i followed the wires from the main port back into the main harness and nothing is there besides a small in line fuse it looks like. Any help is greatly appreciated!

this is all very helpful. i jus picked up a 97gst and it was running fine then i went to chevron and put in $20 of 91 and it threw the check engine light......im gona get my cuzzins obd reader 2day. can some1 tell me ### would be causing this???

Loose gas cap. There's nothing in the car to measure your octane in terms of OBD.

Just to clarify so people don't think I am nuts, the second port is on every Mitsu/Chrysler car I look in. We have close to 900 cars at our facility and I know I have looked in at least 30 others and found it.
The OBD-II port is used for pulling codes and to see the data streams. The second port, which looks like a ALDL or OBDI style, and when you put what Snap-On calls the Mitsu-5 or 7 key in it, it then causes the ECM to go into test modes. I can't even set the BISS with out being able to do this.
I know it is asking allot, but can some body please just take the pin count (should only be a couple of wires), and even with a DVOM check continuity from the plug to the ecm pin so I can find out where they go. I have the plug out of a 97,98, and a 99 Eclipse, only problem is they are for a non-turbo car so the pins at the computer are going to be different for sure. Will send $$$ thru PayPal for the help if I have to.

I have a 97 auto gst and I can't pull any trany codes unless the obd-II and diagnostic port is hook up and I know I don't got one so is there a way to wire one of these 12 pin connector up to the obd-II port?
