I just finished installing the Dejon CIP-2GS intake pipe in my 99 GSX (my first mod on this car). All went well, except there is one hose left unconnected. The stock intake pipe had a tube for the hose coming from the wastegate sensor, but the Dejon one does not. Is it OK to leave this hose unconnected (ie, open to the air)?

the littlest hose is for your BSC (boost contorl solenoid) any yes you will need it until you upgrade your boost controller. A cheap manual "hallman style" BC will set you back $50 or so (cheaper if bought it used) and then that line is not used. When purchasing the Dejon intake there are a few options for nipples that one cost like $5.00 too bad you found out about this too late. Luckily you can put the stocker back on for a few days.

i say just run a vacume line from the compressor outlet to the wastegate and ditch the stock bcs.. if you did the restrictor mod it will put you back at 10 psi, but who cares, you can make a mbc for under 10 bucks like i did... works fine for me.. as long as you get the right spring size/ spring rate...(first time i didnt...)

technically right now your running rich, but its such a small amount of air that you dont notice the richer condition... if it runs fine now, you can remove the hose and it wouldnt make that big of a difference...(the hose techically adds resistance, but it shouldnt affect the total volume flowing through there, so you again wouldnt notice the difference...) i say just do what i said and run a line straight from the compressor outlet to the wastegate, or one from the bov line to the wastegate (youll need a t for this...)... if you have the stock intercooler and intercooler piping you will notice about 1 psi more from running it from the bov over the compressor outlet... i think on my gauge the difference was .8 psi...which is a huge difference that matters sooooo much.... i say just get rid of the bcs completely...

So I called Dejon Tool to ask them what the deal was with this situation, and the guy I talked to said that he "forgot to add the BCS tube", but also said that I don't really need it to be connected. I'm not sure if he is just trying to cover his arse or if what he's saying is true, but it does make sense: He said that this tube is used by the BCS to vent excess pressure back into the intake pipe, and that it doesn't really matter where it vents this pressure to (meaning it's ok to just have it vent into the open air). So I tried running the car like this, with the BCS venting to the atmosphere, and it seems to be running fine (though it seems to make both my BOV and exhaust louder -- is this because of the open-air venting or just because of the fact that the intake pipe and K&N are on there, coupled with the restrictor mod?)

So should I just leave it like this? Should I remove the BCS vent hose completely? (Right now I have the hose still connected to the BCS but the other end is just kinda hangin loose in the engine bay) What would happen if I capped this vent on the BCS? Or should I call DejonTool back, and get them to give me another intake pipe or the extra tube for free?

BTW, I do not want to add a MBC because I'm not plannin on doing a whole bunch of modding and I do not have a boost gauge or the money to get one right now.
