1G Degreeing Cams

ok to start off I am going to degree my cam when I pull the motor out next and I relies there are a lot or variables with any motor I was just wanting some heads up or options before I take this on.

things I will be changing are replacing exhaust mani to a DNP Tubular Mani

going from a big 16g to a 6062 Precision

I will be making my own sheet metal intake later on but not right now so I am leaving this out of the conversation right now.

My question is should I just degree my cams to stock specs as far as open and close times

or is there a way to fine tune it to help me gain the most power with what mods I have done.

I am by no means a expert engine tuner but learning every day.

thanks 2gmitsueclipes I have found some info like that video on how to degree them but is that basic it

is degreeing the cam basically just involve degreeing them like in the video above.

I would assume just degreeing them to stock timing will make more power because the valves will open and close when they are suppose to

but can you set them in a way to gain even more power.

Best to set to zero, go to the Dyno and tweek for the best power band, all the trouble to degree them only to have to adjust them anyway

Yes Good idea was planing on going to the dyno for a retune after I Change a few things best to just let them tweak them I suppose
