My car (96 tsi awd) is definately running lean, sparkplugs are WHITE, and I did a WOT 2 and 3 gear run with my logger yesterday, the highest my O2 voltage is hitting is .87

I'm pretty sure I have a pretty bad boost leak somewhere, as around 4000 - 4500 rpm the car starts to trip and jerk. I have a vac leak somewhere too, boost gauge only shows between 10 and 15 at idle.

What all could be causing me to run that lean?

First find your leaks/ boost and otherwise or your ems is not going to function right. If you think it might be leaking somewhere double check it test it. then see if your running lean. By the way how do you kniow if your lean if your O2 is reading a .87? Look at the plugs what do they tell you?

Oh yeah your vacum should be between 17 and 22 hg at idle, check intake gaskets/throttle body gaskets intercooler and boost piping, or if your engine has a lot of mileage maybe your rings are worn. do a compression test. good luck

I was told in the tuning section that O2 voltage should hold around .88, .88 being lean and .98 being really rich, and like I said, the plugs are WHITE.

I need to pull the J-pipe off, one of the bolts holding it to the turbo looks to be crossthreaded. I don't think it's holding the j-pipe down tight, but the bolt (alen head) is stripped, and I have no idea where to get another one.
