2G decided to replace the top window trim

ok so i got a beautiful 97 awd talon did the 6 bolt swap and all, so i decided to replace the top window trim that always go to hell, well i got them on and all, but now the windows dont seem to wanna slide up under the lil lip under the big trim piece, and the weather stripping wont stay it keeps falling out, has anyone else run into this prob and had to take it to a shop. and also my door panels are crap especially the buttons piece the screw holes are all broken, haha damn cheap plastic, but anyway are sebring and avenger door panels exactly the same so i can jst mix and match them? and also the dash on the cars id like to get rid of my gray and go with the black, cause im not one to go and duplicolor everything. thanks guys id appreciate the help.

I can only help with the weatherstripping. Carefully use a flat blade screwdriver to push the rubber into the track. Some sections might go in if you run your finger along the track. Be carefull not to puncture it. I noticed some adhesive on each end of the original, but didn't have any trouble getting mine to stay without additional adhesive.

Did you get the right window trim, also there is an adjustment on the angle of the window as it rolls up.

yea i tried that, i think i jst need to get some new fresh weather stripping, and start over again. anyways the car was never really taken care of from the beginning, its a basket case anyways thanks tho.

Try gettin some trim adhesive from wal mart. Also black is the way to go. Mine is gray and i hate it. I would love to have black.

yea its a 97 so im a year short of the black dash and console, id like to go all black but its gonna be hard to track down all the pieces, i think im gonna get the carbon door panels from topshop atleast. but atleast i got the all black talon and a 97 at that. i attached a pic i hope it works

Lookin nice!!! I love the 97-98 talons they are the best body style. I wish i got mine in black not red. I get pulled over 3 times a year just because the cars red with rims. Also love 5 star wheels. I have 5 star axis touring cups on mine deffinently a good choice as well.

haha i feel your pain with the red. i had a red 95 for 2 years slammed with h&r springs and full 3 inch exhaust test pipe and all damn did the cops get on me, atleast every 2 weeks they had their lights on me. and you know their jst jealous cause were driving more money than what they have in the retirement account haha damn haters. and yea the 97 style with 5 stars are the way to go, its such a hard car to find especially the all black and turbo awd. heres a pic of her right after the motorswap. still on the 93 rims and the 95 eclipse front bumper, and also the car was a salvage the front was completely smashed, it took me 1 and a half years to find the front bumper and i actually found it local and black, how lucky right?

This the only good pic i could find of my 2g. At the moment she throw a rod bearing but gives me a chance to upgrade the inturnals. I was going to sell her for $2800.00 and had the ad on craigs list but rite before i sold her, she blow up on me.

ahh the joys of throwing a rod bearing, i remember those days are you gonna keep the 7 or go 6 bolt? if u go 6 id suggest getting your 7 head worked to fit on the block its so much easier than trying to hookup all the shit for the 6 head trust me i went thru it .

I was thinking of going with a 6 bolt but doing a hole front end clip and makin it mannual trans. My other 2 1gs are 5spd and i would love to have this one with a mannual trans also but its a lot of work and money to do so. I have a 6bolt that's siting in my garage now that i pulled from my 92 laser that i did a JDM swap because the 6bolt blow up. So im not really sure what i wanna do at this time and i dont really have the money to dish out for a front end clip at this time. DSM always breakin. My 2g has 170000k on it and i havnt had to do a damn thing to it other then maintance. But both my 1gs break once a week . Before i did the JDM swap.
