1/4 window trim replace?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

So the passenger side is discontinued so how would I find out if any dealer in the states would happen to have one in stock SOMEWHERE?

Mine is leaking and warped. Is it possible to replace it with a used one in good shape?

You need to peel the trim off, head to an auto paint store and get a tube (for a caulking gun) of window urethane.

The glass is just set on the metal by the urethane. You might have to cut the glass off from the metal with a window knife-(leaving a layer of the old urethane on the glass), and lay down the new urethane on both - the metal and the glass surfaces, then reseat the glass on the metal.

Let it sit for a while, then reattach the trim. I've been there before, but did a google search on how to do auto glass, and I took it from there.

Good luck-DSM

The quarter glass on our cars is what's called encapsulated glass, and it's practically impossible to cut out without ruining the trim. I did this on my car not too long ago, I was able to find a new window on ebay for $70.

You found a new window (with trim)?

I looked and only found used. Cant I just reglue it in?
'

I found brand new OEM glass with trim, you can't actually get them separate as the glass is encapsulated into the trim. I just checked and JNZ tuning has a listing for both the drivers and passenger side quarter glass, part numbers MB881947 and MB881948.

If you can find a used one where the trim and everything is still in good condition then that'd be fine, they're just VERY difficult windows to remove without destroying the trim on the back which could lead to sealing issues if glued back in.
