Window Trim

I've plasti dipped that trim with I think two coats however I did not sand or fully peel the old plastic coating off so after 2 years it just ripped again. However, I have read in a post here that somebody hadd good results with sanding the entire length of the trim so the old plastic coating becomes flush with the inner stainless rail, then adding plastic primer and spraying bumper paint over it. The bumper paint is very thick and forms strong layers. Or you can use any other sort of paint that acts as a filler material. Then on top of that you can still do plasti dip which is great, or a glossy finish. I've been meaning to do this but refitting the weather stripping inside of it is the biggest pain in the ass.

Following - I'd like to know as well, assuming you are talking about the exterior trim that extends from the cowl, up the A-pillar, and above the doors.
I'm also curious what people do about the little plastic end pieces.
