Well just retrieved my Garrett 50 Trim with a bolt on turbine housing, they say its a BEP housing. So before removing my 16g I decided to dyno since I had just fixed a few boost leaks or what not and the car was feeling strong. So I wanted to see if I hit my goal of 300whp before removing it and never finding out. Anyhow, here are my results, what do you guys think? My Profile is updated with all specs, tuning was done purely on the S-AFC, Translator only had the Base/Aux knobs adjusted to compensate for the injectors.

Here are the links to the videos. The first link is the 2nd pull, but you can see on the screen the first pass which is blurry but says 307whp with 306tq. They are not the best videos, but serve the purpose. Enjoy guys.

Thanks bro, guess I am. I was impressed I was expecting somewhere along 280whp and saw this and almost passed out LOL
My numbers might not be entirely spot on since I found a boost leak at the weld of my Hahn Race Craft FMIC core, still a ballpark number though and your doing good. On my bed sits a VR-Speed front mount so I'll be putting it on with this new turbo setup, damn HRC sucks and its expensive. :notgood:

Good numbers, you should go E85/50 trim.

Wow is all I can really say.. Very Very impressive numbers, and a lot of torque too. I'd be more than pleased with those numbers on a 16g. How much boost? And how much timing?
Check his profile, his dyno sheet shows 20psi and it was tuned using an SAFC so he was using the base timing maps for a 2g. IM IMPRESSED.

Leaks are a big difference. I just did the A/C system on my car but it had an issue so when I took it back to the shop they decided the condenser was not good. So they changed it out for another one and when they did they never really tightened my clamps very good. I fixed all that, replaced TB gasket that was leaking and I gained 2-3psi of boost just by doing that. At the time of the dyno I had one leak which I still haven't fixed, it is the welding on the HKS SSQV flange, it has a little hole. Not sure how significant that single boost leak would be though. I have thought about E85, but rather just stay pump for now. Hoping to do about 330-340whp at 14-15psi on the 50trim until I can get head studs and head gasket then go a bit higher.

Thanks, yes it was a 20-20.5psi according to the AEM TRU Boost. Last time I logged the car the highest timing was 21º. Pretty flat curve too. Stayed mainly between 19-21º.

Makes me want to put my car on a dyno - nice numbers.

You should man, thanks.

Good numbers!

Thank you.

If you guys want to see a video of the pull, I had someone upload it on Facebook. You can search for me under "[email protected]". just include a message with your request saying you are from here and I'll accept you. From there you can go to my profile and see it. For those who don't have facebook, I'm going to try and get the actual file so I can upload it on youtube and link you guys to it.

Added two pics to the first post, still haven't been able to get a hold of the video file.

Well, since the above dyno I've ran the 50 trim for a while now, but just recently dynoed with it on E85. Profile is updated with the mods. Boost was peak 26.2 psi, but held 20-21 psi after about 6K RPM's. :(

I have now installed the ECM LInk Boost Solenoid and boost is a steady 25.7 till redline. :). I just need to go dyno again.

This is on a stock 7 bolt with 202k miles, 201k at time of dyno. Head and oil pan have never been removed, stock head gasket.

First pull to last pull. At around 6200 RPM's I gained about 60-70 WHP. Crazy! This was just with timing adjustments. Boost wasn't touched on the dyno.

This was the best run, but doesn't show torque. :(

What do you guys think?

Seems about right at that boost level, although I'd still like to see the log from the final dyno pull. Good numbers and at the HP/TQ level you should have a solid 12 second DSM with a good launch.

Yeah, but like I said, dropping boost killed me. My peak is well below 6k, should be higher. The car I can tell you for a fact, feels way better than when I dynoed, I'm talking about a good 15-20 horsepower, easily. I'm holding 5 or so lbs of boost more up top. Not only that, I'm still on stock IM/TB which I know is hella restrictive on these damn 2G's. :( I want to dyno now that I hold boost, but I might wait till I can get a IM and pair it with my 1G TB that I have here. Seems worth it to wait.

I can send you the log later on, any particular reason for the interest? Just curious, that's all.

I love the powerband though, great power, comes on quick, and now it holds a lot better than the dyno sheet shows.

There is still way more in it. Shoot for a 11.7:1 or 12:1 AFR on e85. See if it makes more power, some car will gain a good 20~25whp. Some wont get much more than 5, but play it based upon the gain. If leaning out by 10% nets you 25whp, then its worth it, if its 5, the richen it back up. But the PTE i5031E is good for 440+ on ethenol.

392 whp.... that sounds like a lot of fun. Not bad for 26psi tapering to 20.

And 300whp on the small 16g @ 20psi is great to hear, too.

I'm running 22psi right now on mine. Virtual Dyno (it's an program an Evo guy wrote) estimates 260whp. But my timing is way lower than it can be. I'm hitting up the drags Friday night if the weather holds out. Judging by other people's timing curves, I have almost 6* of timing to add to the peak. Just need a long enough, dry enough strip of pavement to do some tuning on.

Curious to see your timing advance, AFR's, airflow, IDC's, SD VE table, etc. after the dyno tune.

Any reason why you aren't running 28+psi?

:dsm:

No problem bro, I'll try to retrieve it ASAP and send it over. As far as boost, it was dropping so I kinda didn't feel like messing with it. I'm going to be getting a IM and upping boost to about 28-29psi and going on the rollers again, hoping for about 430 then, or somewhere around there at least.

I didn't try it on the dyno, but going to 12.3 didn't yield any gains on the logger nor any noticeable difference. So I left it at 11.5 just to make sure things are kept cool.

Best way is a dyno man, tune for MBT. and yeah, not bad, like I said, car feels a lot stronger now.

I'll probably get 5 or 6 runs at the track tomorrow. We'll see if I can get some sort of improvement in so few runs.

I'd love to get some dyno time, but there's no where local with an AWD dyno. And one in Pittsburgh doesn't do EvoScan/ECUFlash. Oh well. Winter's coming anyway. It snowed here one night a week or so ago, and the winter tires are only H rated. LOL

Then I guess have some fun at the track while you can, just don't go crazy on timing because it's E85, that's why people go kaboom on E85 LOL. They get finger happy with the laptop, and then the expected happens. Good luck! :hellyeah:

I wish I had E85. The only station in town that sold it turned the pump into an auto diesel one last year. Too many foreigners driving diesel Mercs to make money off of here at PSU.

At least I get 93.

Ah okay, pump gives more warning when tuning, E85 you usually don't get knock till it's too late.

That's the one thing I stress on this forum. When we upgrade our new profile. All the old stuff we have gets out of wackLOL
What did you have mod at the time you did the 16g pull?
