I needed a gasket that goes between the turbo and my j pipe. So of course i had to show the tech there what the hell i was talkin about becuase he had no clue. So I show him what gasket I need and he tells me that I do not have a Mits. Turbo so I cannot get one threw him. I look at him tryin not to bust out luaghin and I go yes i do have a mits. turbo it is the evo turbo. He then goes tryin to act all bad ass that it is not an evo turbo and he runs inside to go get a evo key. SO we walk over to an evo and he pops the hood and i look at him and go oh its not an evo turbo huh. ANd he goes well umm umm its all backwards. i proceede to bust out luaghin and he didnt know what do to. Haha anyway. I need to know if u guys no anywhere wher i can get this gasket. So my car stops leakin oil.

no but dealerships do suck, my local dodge dealership is amazed that these cars still exist, everytime i go in there, they try and play everything off on mitsubishi, and there isnt a mitsu dealership within 35 miles.

I was so pissed then I go to start my car wont start so now Im really pissed so i pop my hood just to see if they ####ed up and of course they did my mass air sensor plug wasnt plugged in.

Get the gasket from the dealership.

Go in and tell them you want to a gasket for a 91 Mitsubishi turbo eclipse, the one between the compressor housing and the pipe leading off to the intercooler. Make them print out a picture and point to it it you have to.

K thanks i think he is gonna try and get one from the evo

One time I was trying to buy a TPS sensor from my local dealership and I was told that there was no Eclipse GSX. The only way I can ever get what I want is to know exactly what part I'm asking for and demand that they have it.

haha so i guess at ur dealership my car wouldnt exist. ahahahah that is great.

your problem is that you have the evo 3 big 16g i assume which he has absolutely no information on. had you known that the compressor outlet is nearly identical to the 14b on a first gen you could've saved yourself all this trouble. so he's right in the fact that he said its not an evo turbo because in america the only evo turbo does face the wrong way. had you told him your turbo was off of a lancer evolution 3 he would've just said he plain couldn't help you because his parts catalog didn't list that vehicle.

Yea that woulda helped so I need to tell him that I need a gasket off of the 14b, Will the evo 8 turbo gasket fit? or no.

Are the turbos the same, Are the housing and stuff still the same?

I'm a little confused. The "J" pipe is the one going from the compressor side to the intercooler, right? I'm wondering why you leak oil there? It seems to me you shouldn't leak oil anywhere near there. If you're looking gasket at the "oil return pipe" that is easy to get. If you need I can have a part # for you tomorrow.

WELL, I while back idiots at the dealership rigged some pipe up that went to the intercooler and it blew off when i was juicin LOL, so there was oil all in my engine. Now it looks like there is still some coming from there. DO u have any pics or anything of waht u are talkin about.. Yea get me the part number just in case. Lol but will a gasket from the evo 8 fit on my turbo, for the j pipe?

no you don't understand, there's no reason for there to be oil in the turbo outlet elbow.

do you have a fmic?
is the j-pipe you're talking about underneath the turbo or on top?
what actual turbo are you running?

answer these as i'm still a little confused on what your setup/problem is.

also DON'T BUMP

Scroll up, and look at my signature picture. See that big huge Grey pipe? the one comming out of the turbo. Thats your J-pipe. If your talking about the skinny little pipe on the bottom of the turbo. Its the oil return line.

If your looking at the J-Pipe which you can clearly see in my signature. Than you don't need a gasket. Just go to your local autostore and pick up a $2 tube of Gasket RTV and seal it up with 2 bolts.

No i dont have a front mount,
On top
Evo 16 g turbo
Sorry about the bump just want to get this problem fixed

So you ARE talking about the "J" pipe. You hopefully have a less serious problem than a blown turbo but there is now reason that you should have oil coming from there. have you checked the line that goes from the end of the head to the turbo? Could it possibly be coming from a bad valve cover gasket? Maybe jsut maby you ar sending a bunch from the hose at the end of the alve cover into the intake and by having a bad gasket at the "J" pipe it leaks out. You would have a BIG boost leak though, if that gasket failed.

Still not convinced it could be the "J" pipe

IM gonna seal up the j pipe then i will look at more of the areas. SO best bet to seal it would be that stuff at the autoplace.

Yea that sounds like a good idea, so I should seal that up and clean it then check all the areas around the turbo for leaks all the lines and such

Dont think it could be a blown turbo just put this one in a month ago

Can i get the part number for the oil return line gasket. When we replaced my turbo we used the old one and now it is leaking on the garage floor and the grandparents are getting a little upset.

sorry i didn't notice the dates of the last posts. Anyways thanks for the info.
