Datalogging : Low data rates??

Hey guys i just got my pocketlogger cable from digitaltuning. I hooked it up to my serial cable and my palm m505.

I fire up the motor and I'm only getting 4 or 5 samples per second?? is this normal? Why is it so low as compared to what I've seen from other people?

Also, I have some TDCs . . . should i clear them out and log? or log while they are on? Obviously they are on the way to being fixed properly. Thanks for the help.

You need to run the Byte timing that is under options....it will give you a better sample rate but if you have the numbers to tight it will cause the logger to lose the connections sometimes during logs.

how do you look at your tdc's??? and how do you clear them... i have a palm3c.. and i havnt figured it out.. ???

if you have obd-ii logger from digitaltuning, you look at TDCs from the bottom item in the main screen.

Thanks for the tip! After byte timing i was able to tweak it up to 7S/s with only 1 or 2 errors every ~1min.

Keep tweaking with it. You should be able to get more that 7S/s. With my 99 I was able to hold 19S/s. Of course when I swapped out my ecu for a 95 I can now only get 9S/s, but you should be able to get a much better sample rate. Should...

Reset it and try again. Let the Inter-Byte delay test run all the way through, find the point where you start to see errors stop and bump that value up a litte then run the Inter-Packet delay test. That's when you see the sample rate start to climb. At least for me anyway. You've probably already done all this, I just think you should be able to get a better sample rate.

well i did that and now both numbers are zero, no errors, and a sample rate of ~19S/s. Thx for the help!
