Dash lights on all the time like Evo

Anyone know where I can find the power input for the dash lights? I'd like to wire them so they come on with the ignition, like the Evo. I just need to find the 12v input, the rest is easy.

Couldn't you go behind the fuse box and find the wire that powers the gauges? Then splice that into the ignition harness. The harness that goes into the ignition switch...You probably already knew that though. I don't know what color that one wire is off hand but I'm sure I can find out soon.

You could likely just rewire the supply for the gauge dimmer pot to a switched line.. cig lighter or just a line to your cabin fusebox. Believe the pot provides the 12V supply to the gauge cluster lighting, not a switch-leg type variable ground.

Sounds like it's time to break out the factory service manuals and find out, no?

i wired mine so there on all the time, its easy. its in ## deck's wiring believe it or not. if you unhook ## deck and read the words on the wiring, you should find one that says "dimmer ground". mine was orange with a black stripe, urs might be different. anyways i just grounded that to a piece of metal and screw, and now whenever i turn my car on my dash lights are on. the only problem i'm having, is now my dash light dimmer control doesn't do anything, they stay on all the time no matter what i do with the dimmer control. i don't really care but its odd. anyways hope this helps
