I've been trying to replace my left front CV shaft on my '95 GSX (manual, w/o ABS). The first one I ordered had an interior male end. The dead one on the car has a female end (that couples it with the intermediate shaft.) I figured it to be a catalog mistake by the remanufacturer, so I returned it, and ordered another one from a different company. I just got it today, and it ALSO HAS A MALE END instead of a female. I've called both companies AND THE DEALER and nobody has my car listed as a split year.
All I can figure out is that the intermediate shaft and/or the CV shaft have been replaced with ones from another year. Could my car have a 1g intermediate shaft and CV axle? Would these two items even fit properly on a 2g? What the hell should I do - try to find a 2g intermediate shaft or order a 1g CV axle?
Thanks in advance.
