Ok im going for the whole sleeper thing. My car has 272 cams and stock everything else. Well right now it is down for a few mods, ie ported 14b, licp, stainless lines. I installed my boost gauge tonight in my cup holder. Keep everything out of sight. Now I need to open up the stock exhaust, I was thinking that I could get a 3in dp and get a electric cutout right beofre the cat, so basically like running a open downpipe. Will I gain power of this from the stock 2 in exhuast that it has to trail all the way through.

Hey, I have a cutout on one of my GSTs before the catalytic converter, and you will definately gain a considerable amount of power while the cutout is open. And the stealth of a cutout is unbeatable. It will also save you from getting exhaust tickets if the police are strict about that in your area. I highly recommend DMH performance for a quality electric cutout.

I made a cutout myself. I welded flanges onto a straight piece of pipe to go in place of the cat. Then I cut a hole in the side and notched anothe piece of pipe to come off at a 45* angle. Then I used an old throttle body as the cut out. I just had to make a flange to bolt up to the throttle body. Opening and closing it is done with a choke cable that is routed up through the floor and mounted down near the floor on the side of the center console. It works really well and the total cost was less than $20.

You will definatley gain power from the cutout I've seen the different in my buddies car. He even gained power over running 3" turboback exhaust when opening the cutout after the downpipe. It makes a good size difference with it open on his car and he is on the stock t-25 w/bolt ons.
