1G Custom shift boot review (made by a member here)

I picked up one of the custom shift boots from a member on here in the classifieds.

Just wanted to say I'm really happy with the fit, look, price and install.

Here's a pic with the OEM Evo X final edition shift knob :)

There was a lot of options for materials and color etc

I got one from them as well. Great quality, fits great too. Absolutely zero issues! Would recommend.

I think it's suede? I don't know if there's really a difference and surprisingly it's the factory shift boot retainer! Part number is on it

I think maybe because your material is softer it folded over easier. Also mine looked like that on the bottom, with the part number. Maybe yours was in better shape :) Mine has a split line in it like it cracked or came that way. Still good stuff man, looks good. I love modifying stuff!

I like mine too, but mine needed some serious cutting and trimming to fit flush with my Center console trim. When I first put it on the OEM boot ring it wouldn’t pop all the way in. I had to cut the corner stitching and a few pieces off so it would fit in flush.

After all that though, I’m very pleased with it. Mine also did not include the rubber shifter stop/ring that @Anfurnyy showed.

Still, I like it. But with the thicker leather options like mine just be aware you may have to trim to get it perfect.

man yours looks super clean. I think I'm going to have to spend a little more time on mine :) my edges are a little wavy, the corners aren't as clean. And around the knob is not quite as nice.

Coming up with a game plan....steam, razor, sharp scissors and contact adhesive LOL. thats my plan.
Trim boot/stitching etc as needed to tuck. Glue contact adhesive as needed to roll edges around lower frame. Re-do upper bit, trim, zip tie as needed

Good work! Although in my defense, I did it real quick half tuned up at 10pm when I got home all excited

**Also same, mine didn't come with anything except the leather shift boot itself. You will re-use the factory pieces for the rest of it

Just want to add in:

Received my shift boot yesterday. Purchased on Monday, received it on Thursday.
Fits perfect, no issues. Not cheap materials, nice thick suede. Couldn't be happier. Now I need a new shift knob.
