I'm going to do a custom fmic setup and I need a core that will support 500+ hp. I am running an SC61 at 30 psi ( race gas ) on a fully built motor. I have been searching, but what seems to be a cost effective core I could use. I want something huge, but also something that will look good and allow me to not run into too many problems when routing my pipes. I know this has been asked MILLIONS of times, but in my case the average cores won't flow enough. I will be running 20 - 25 psi daily and 30+ at the track. Thanks.

Give these guys a call. They have a core 10.5x32x3.5 that will suport that, and it is a full kit with pipes, polished stainless. I was looking to get a BR FMIC kit, but then I found this, which is 2.5 inches taller than the BR core for less money! Fit and finish is great and the intercooler is bar and lpate, which is the best

Well I'd rather not get a full kit. My friend is a distributor and he gets dealer pricing and after seeing the markup on intercoolers I'd rather peice together my own. He had a core that was HUGE ... like 30x10x3 that he gets for $360. ( I'm just looking to decide on a core and then have him get it for me at cost ) Piping should cost no more than $125 to come up with so that's $500 ish total. Any complete kit is going to be $800+.

ended up getting a precision core. Now I just need to make pipes. IS 2.5" going to be enough for the power I plan to make? All the pipes I have around the house are only 2.25".

ok well lets put it this way ... how will I KNOW if 2.25 is not enough, even from driving it? On my turbo the intercooler pipe outlet is only like 1 3/4" or so inside diameter ... so I'm assuming piping thats an inch bigger in diameter would be plenty or the outlet on the turbo would have to be larger as well?
