So I got a 1997 GSX bone stock with 38,000 miles on it. For some random reason the cruise control stopped working. The amber light comes on but the green cruise light does not come on the cluster and it does not work. Only thing that I got fixed on the car was the clutch master cylinder and the clutch solenoid. Don't think that would cause anything. But that's about it. Thanks for the help.

I mean clutch slave cylinder. Don't know what the hell I was thinking LOL whoops.

My 1g is the same way, let me know if you figure it out! I've checked all the fuses, no green light, there is the amber light though like you. :sosad:

Does the speedo still work?

and speedo works

Isn't there a sensor on the clutch pedal, separate from the one used when starting, just for the cruise control? Maybe that was disconnected for the master cylinder replacement and not reconnected (or perhaps the wiring/harness was damaged). Complete guess as I haven't ever disconnected that switch (and I no longer have cruise control).

^+1 on this.

Have you checked the vacuum lines and the cruise control unit? It's the unit attached the the triangular bracket mount in front of the battery. There's a cable running from it into the throttle cable pulley, but it's vacuum operated.
