Hey guys I just recently started getting knock in my 97 gsx. As you can see in the logs that I hit as much as 7* of knock. I could have a possible exhaust leak in my flex section which is why the wideband could be reading a little lean, afest is very rich. I also noticed that my ISCPosition is off, possibly a bad sensor? My question is, could a bad ISC result in knock? Or am I just running to rich and causing it to knock?

From the look of you log, your way too lean causing knock. If you wideband is correct that is. Try adding some fuel.

Are you on stock injectors?

First of you need to make sure your wideband gauge matches what is shown in link. Then you need to calibrate your idle and cruise first so that WIDEBAND and AFRatioEST are equal. I would change your DA fuel table back to stock until you get everything right.

Yes I am on stock injectors. And thanks for the advice, I changed my a/f ratios back to the stock values and will calibrate my idle and cruise tommorrow and post a log. Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it.

Blake, e-mail me an updated log and let's figure this out. I want to go for a cruise. I'd suggest leaning it out some and see if you still get knock. I want to also add that this all started after changing spark plugs to bpr7es's. He is on stock t25 and pushing 15psi.

You could try to gap your plugs down too. I know they are at .028 maybe .025 or lower would help. Let us know.

you can see that your afratioest went way rich while the wideband doesn't nearly show it as clear. As that afratioest goes more and more rich (also noted by your front o2 going rich)...

Not sure what you mean by this. AFRatioEst just tracks the DA tables, for the most part. It is basically just the target that the ECU is trying to hit.

His wideband is around 14.7 during cruise, which is correct...so it's probably fairly accurate. It looks to me like he just hasn't done any calibration on the MAF and fuel, so he is running lean...way too lean, and the fuel trims also suggest this when he is in closed loop.
