crazy interior switch?

So I have this crazy idea, but I am not sure if it will work. Help and opinions, please and thanks..

I love the 2g dsm interiors, so I was thinking I could try to put a 2g center console where my 1g console is. Would it be possible and what would I have to do to make it work? Has anyone attempted this?

if anything, not sure if it would fit but, measure the dash on both of them and if there close just take out the whold dash and swap them and re-wire them....if theres a little bit of clearence you could probaly fabricate your own little pieces to fit in there

Okay.... :ohdamn: NO! I don't intend this post to cut you down, because, I too, love the 2g interior and it seems to me that you have a flare for creativity, which is cool:thumb:.

HOWEVER, think about this. ONE, as already stated, this is going to be a, complete, pain in the ass. TWO, have you ever compared the differences in how the chassis is constructed between a STRIPPED 1g and a 2g?? From what I've seen, they are very different. (I've seen pictures of stripped 1g's and compared the differences to my stripped 2g that's sitting in my garage RIGHT NOW.) The dashes between the two cars are shaped very differently, which in turn, changes ALL the mounting points for the dash accessories, center console, door panels, etc. Also, not only are the mounting points different for each cars dash pieces, but so are the wiring harness connections. When I took out my dash, I noticed that there are several areas of it that having wiring harness connections already embedded in it. I would make an educated guess that it's the same thing with 1g dash setups. You can't cross wiring harnesses like that. These 2g interior parts will not fit with ease or without modification into your 1g, my friend. To me, it sounds like you're, essentially trying to fit a square inside of a circle.

I'm sorry, but I don't forsee this working. Don't buy a cat and try to teach it to bark if what you REALLY want is a dog. Ya dig??

I love the 2g center console, how they slope and how clean they look, besides it would be something that no one has seen. It would be very unique.
Like bud said it might have to be the dash with it(pain in the rear!).
So i will look into it more and if I do, I will definitely take pictures guys!:sneaky:
 
Hey Man I think it could be done. I work for an Interior company and we have done crazier shit than that.

Oh by the way I have a COMPLETE 2g Interior if you wanna buy it. I have the DASH/Center console/Door panels/steering wheel/steering column. PM me if you want a price on the stuff.

Hint... You can get a lot of black interior panels from a 2gb non turbo talon ;). Lots of them came with black. If worse comes to worse you could also SEM it black.
