1G Crazy idle, ISC?

If my ISC is bad, would my car idle crazy all the time? I changed my MAF and that wasnt the problem. After I take off after the car has been sitting(harm tho), it acts like to does'nt want to go(jecks a couple times), I take it out of gear and give it gas and then its ok. The rpms will still drop low when Im stopped and goes lean. Been fighting this for a while now, and it seems be getting worse.

If you have a multimeter test it go to YouTube and type in dsm iac. There's a good video on how to test it. Also a good idea to do a blt.

how does the car idle ? have you done a boost leak test?

I looked at that video earlier and will test tomorrow. I just wanted opions on it first.

My car idles up and down until the car is warm in the am. After that it idles ok, but will idle low and go lean sometimes when Im stopped like I stated im my 1st post. I havent done a blt yet because I have to get a tester. In the mean time, I want to know what it could be or I could check until then.

check your coolant temp sensor also the fiav or a 02 sensor. is it throwing a cel?

Yes a bad ISC could cause idle issues, it was an issue for me. It was the last straw with a number of things that were going wrong. I did a boost leak test and found issues with my injector seals, inter cooler, and throttle body.

The ISC check was real easy and did show mine was bad. I did this first and replacing the ISC helped but did not solve all the idle issues.

When checking my timing to adjust the BISS I found it was way off which led to finding a incorrectly installed timing belt that had slipped two teeth on the intake gear, this complicated evaluations.

if you have not done one yet give it a try. To keep the air on the tester and be able to spray soapy water and find leaks. I changed my tire chuck to this Tire Chuck with Lock-On Lever and I added before it one of these Brass Air Inline Regulator this allowed me to keep the pressure within expected boost levels during testing.

ISC measured 28-29 ohms, so its good. Now on to the IPS. To measure it, do I just turn the car to the on position and stick one lead into the terminal of the green wire and the other on ground? I should get 0 ohms when closed, and to check open position, do I need someone in the car to push the pedal? And should it read open as soon as the pedal is pushed?

I took mine out and tested it no power if it was in spec i was happy, and make sure it worked. Did you go through the things posted in terrys idle page?
