I'm having trouble with bad idle below 1k rpm. I checked the ISC with a ohm meter and the 5th coil is dead. Can that be causing the problem?

Thanks for any help!

Fifth coil? There are only four coils in the ISC, one between pins 1 and 2, one between pins 2 and 3, one between pins 4 and 5, and the one between pins 5 and 6.

The ECU also requires that the IPS inside the TPS be working correctly in order to know when it should be managing the idle and that the BISS is set correctly.

Between 4-5 pins there is no resistance.

Infinite resistance or 0 resistance. Either way you need a new ISC but if it reads 0 ohms then you'll likely also need ECU repairs to replace a blown driver.
