I have removed the crankshaft pulley center bolt not knowing that I did not need to remove it.

There appears to be a notch where it looks like there should be a key, inside the gear thats behind the crankshaft pulley. Is there supposed to be one there?

Im in the process of removing the balance shafts.

I have a 1990 Eclipse Gsx

I think what you're talking about is just an alignment post.

The four holes in a squar pattern are bolt holes, and the little one that seems offset from the rest is for aligning the crank pulleys together.
