I have here 2 of the same bolts with different heads. I have 2 of the smaller head one and the rest are like the larger one, my question is does it matter where the smaller ones go? or do they go somewhere specific on the crank cap? Thanks again!

The 15mm bolt head goes on the #5 main cap, the one back the rear main seal.

The bolts with skirts go at the front of the girdle, towards the timing belt. Like so:

I just looked at my spare 7-bolt bottom end and Bogus is indeed correct. From the factory, the bolts with the smaller head are on the #5 main cap.

However, using the smaller bolts on a different cap shouldn't cause any issues. The picture I posted is of my own bottom end with the smaller bolts on the #1 cap instead. It's still going strong after 10k hard miles.

So which one is up to you. Just keep them on the same cap and torque to spec.
