1G crank sprocket/balance belt

is it absoulutly necessary to remove the crank sprocket to change the balance shaft belt? or can i slip the belt around the sprocket with the tensioner loose? thanks alot for the help

On the engine that came with the car you have to pull the crank sprocket. If somebody swapped a 7 bolt in you can change it without pulling the sprocket.
