Crank sleeve

Hows it going everyone new to the dsm world need some advice. Im putting my new block together.My question is do i need a rear crankshaft sleeve or can i run without one please get back to me thanks. Cant seem to find anything on it or maybe my searching sucks .

I think you might be talking about the rear main seal. And yes, you do need to run one because if you don't, oil will literally pour out of the engine.

Are you talking about a speedi-sleeve, if so the crank will tell you.

Check the area where the rear main seal runs, if it is grooved, then yes you need a speedi-sleeve
If it is smooth or a very slight groove, then no you do need one

The way to tell is, if the groove will catch a finger nail then you need one
