i recently put a jspec engine into my 1g talon, since then a sick rattle is commin from under the car. i took a look and it was the sleeve that covers the yoke inbetween the trany and the driveshaft. anyone know how important that sleeve was? i just took a grinder to it and cut the ****** right off too stop that god awful noise.

Well, if your talking about the sleeve that is on the end of the transfer case that the dr.shaft slides in to before it goes into the seal, then it is important. It's purpose is to keep foregin matter out. So if you run without it you'll probably be likley to get dirt and what not into the seal causeing it to fail prematurly resulting in oil leakage and further down the road failure to the transfer case. Also it will be more prone to getting water in it if you ever find yourself in a situation with a big mud puddle. granted all this acures for the most part even if the shield is on, but it makes it much worse if its not there.
