So I'm sorry if there is somthing like this on here but I did do some searching...
I have a 1990 motor and it was running after I swapped it into my 93. We had a gas leak so we shut her down fixed the line that was leaking and tried to restart with no luck. After a bit of Troubleshooting my no spark/fuel issue I found the ECU had been a victim of the caps leaking so I went and replaced it with a new one. I installed the new one and still had the same issue, So I hooked up an led to the odb1 plug and it was throwing code 22 Crank/cam sensor. I checked the sensor and it had power and read ok but the wires were fraying and it didn't look healthy so I replaced it anyways. I'm still getting the code and I tried rotating it 180 degrees and it still test 100% I don't know what else would cause this code to go or where else I can search for a solution and help would be much appreciated. thanks

Does the tach work?
Have you checked all the connections from the CAS & the harness?
Check the CAS for it's powers & gournds? Red power/black ground.
The CKP signal is a 0-5 volt square wave with engine turning over. ( it just varies in frequency dependant upon RPM) If you have a decent volt meter it will usually read this @ about 2.5 volts or so.

I had the top pins reading power and ground and the bottom pins read 4.8 with the ignition on. Didn't try it while cranking, I will later today. Unfortunately the diagram you gave me is too blurry to read anything, I tried to print it but still was.

And yes the tach is working it's hitting almost .5 rpms while its cranking

I bought a 1990 laser and pulled everything from it and put it inside my 93 shell. so All the sensors, ecu, dash and wiring is from the 1990. The engine parts and ecu I order are for the 1990 as well. I keep my battery disconnected when I'm not working on it so the codes should clear every time, unless there is a way I can manually do it that I don't know of. In case it means anything and I'm missing it I'm also pulling a code for my coolant temp sensor, But I assume that is irrelevant at this stage. Also while it was shut down I tinkered with the oil pressure sensor. Hopefully tonight I'll be able to get out there and mess around some more..

I had to take a long break from this car due to major business expansions! Now that spring is coming again it's time to get her running. I'm still having this issue, The only code being thrown is 22. There was a code for 21 (coolant temp sensor but I fixed that) I've tried to reverse the cas and I've checked the power and ground, it's also reading 4.8 and 5.02 on the other two wires like it should. The wire running to ecu reads like .2 volts when the key is on and then while cranking it runs around 2.5 but varies. What else will cause this code to be thrown? I just can't find anymore info on where to look next. Please help!!!

I also checked the top dead center wire at the ecu and it reads 5v when the #1 piston is all the way up. From my reading that is correct. I've also fully tested the Fuel relay and it is 100% operable. I feel like it's the computer, but I recently had it rebuilt, maybe I should send it back to have it checked.... The code says (in the original tech manuals) No voltage change from CAS but I can see it change on my meter.

Update! The ECU I had rebuilt was still bad.... I bought a new one and the cas issue went away and I have no lights. I can now hear my pump, injectors are working and I have spark!! It's still not starting though, I believe I'm not getting fuel up to the injectors. I feel like My fuel pump is weak and not pushing fuel up to the rail, not sure what else would stop fuel from coming up. The filter is newer.
