i have an oil leak at the cam shaft sensor -positioning sensor near the calve cover but it is not the valve cover, and was wondering if i could just pop it off if there is a gasket and fix it or is there more to it would i mess anything up?

The crank sensor does not have an oring on it if you're talking about what originally came on your 95. If you are talking about a CAM sensor mounted on the passenger side of a 1g or a 6bolt conversion 2g then yes it does. The crank sensor mounted next to the crank sprocket on the front case cannot leak oil. The oil pump sprocket, the crank shaft and the front balance shaft all have seals that can leak. The bolts that go through the hydraulic tensioner are also wet and can leak if the tensioner wasn't tightened. Do you know where the leak is coming front for SURE?

Any leaks on the front case side of the motor will require a complete timing belt job. No exceptions.
