2G Crank position sensor failure a sign of crankwalk?

hey guys how you doing . So I have my 95 Gsx with 97 motor in it and recently my crank position sensor went bad. Car died on me middle of the street and wouldn't turn back on until car was cooled down . Did not overheat tho. After it turned back on I took it to my shop and we checked for spark and no spark. Came down to be the crank position sensor .
Please tell me it's not a sign on crank walk. I told my mechanic before he does anything or switch out the sensor to check play in the.crank but has not gotten to me and I been biting my nails ever since . Has anyone gone hey this problem and not be crank walk

I had that problem with a 1G 7 bolt in my 2G. The 1G 7 bolt needed the 1G CAS and adapter harness. I went through 3 Crank sensors before realizing it.

When my crank walked it actually ate through the timing cover. So I would imagine the sensor would have to be broken to indicate a crank walk condition

Crankwalk usually has the CPS sensing blade chop through the CPS destroying it. However a CPS can go bad or intermittent without crankwalk also.

You will know when you inspect the crank and trigger plate.

I really doubt its crankwalk.

Almost all of the cars that had crank walk issues did so long ago. It was most prevalent in a batch of engines built in 95, and most all of the affected engines walked at low mileage (before the 1st timing belt was due).
