i'm rebuilding my engine and finally have everything to put it back together. My general rule is to put everything back the were i found it but heres my problem. I did'nt pay enough attention to the crank bearings when i took them out so not sure what i'm putting back in. i know which set of bearings is for the middle but were i'm lost is the front 2 and back 2. the new bearings i've got consist of 4 smooth and 4 with a groove down the middle. i don't know if they belong on top side of crank, or bottom side, and a buddy of mine says they might pair up. I'm lost please help.

have a haynes manuel but it does'nt say much other than to install the bearings. They sure don't write those things like they used to.

hrm from what i know they should both have notches. i have two brand new sets of chevets here and they all have notches..

and i agree on the lack of information with haynes/chiltons.. definitely not detailed enough
