I have an issues of my clutch not mounting flush due to the nipple off of the flywheel not fitting into the end of the crank. Anyone know if it could be due to an after market crank? My thoughts would be all cranks for this motor would accommodate a OEM clutch.

There's a bushing on the end of your crank that has to be removed unless you are using a flexplate for an automatic.
Its all manual. I dropped the tranny last weekend and this issue came up. Do you know if its replaceable without swapping out the crank?

im assuming you mean the alignment nub on the back of the flywheel. can you by chance measure the hole in the crank and the flywheel nub and see how much of a difference it is?

i know when i rebuilt my buddies 98 gs, his aftermarket flywheel (stock style, aftermarket part) was super tight to fit in the crank. had to tap it with a dead-blow to get it on.

post some pics if you can.
