Clutch Tranny or Crank walk?

My friend has a 1993 talon tsi awd act flywheel and act 2600lb clutch. We were driving last night and something weird happened. From light and we raced civic . My friend went up to 7000rpm in first and then problems started. There was no second gear and no third no fourth or fifth. He slowed down, we pulled onto a side street. Every time he tried getting into first the tranny would grind and the car would stall if he jammed it in gear. Then what he did was start the car in first gear but the car would move slowly event though the clutch pedal was in all the way. So we sat there for like 5 minutes thinking what i could be. Then we tried again and everything was back to normal, it seemed very strange. So he drove it home but then something else happened when ever he would start going in first gear the car would jerk, like he wasn't giving enough gas, even though he would be at 2500-3000rpm. It would do it in first and second gear. all the other gears are fine. Also the clutch pedal seemed fine too had pressure and everything. What could it be Clutch, Trany or maybe symptoms of Crankwalk? Need help please.

dont know about the tranny prob, but my car started jerking last night and now the engine is locked up

i dont know about the tranny thing, maybe you broke a shift fork, but it kinda sounds like you broke a valve. thats what mine did when i did.

if its a 93 the chances of crankwalk are pretty impossible thats pretty much 2g related , sounds like your first gear is gone but i wouldnt be able to tell unless i drove it

93 is a 7 bolt so crankwalk is possible, but doughtful. Sounds like a clutch problem to me. The jerking was probably the clutch slipping.

Every bolt has gotten crank walk.

Any odd engine noise? I think its more so clutch related. Crankwalk is so rare even in 2G cars..I don't know why people assume they have crankwalk everytime they have a engine problem now, its really not as common of an issue as websites make it out to be.

Also, try reving the motor a little bit in neutral to see if it sounds odd.

Took it to buschur a week ago it was his clutch and the flywheel. He got new one, now its time for brake in thanks guys
