Hey guys, long story short, my stock hood has a big dent in it that began to rust, so i kept my eye out for a good condition hood, found a brand new vented fiberglass cowl hood for cheap:thumb:, anyway, i lined it up, just to make sure it fit right. Fit very well, but i have one question, the vented cowl on the right side is above the MAF, i can look in and see it.

Im thinking that if it rains it would get wet (the MAF), thats not a good thing.

Should i just seal off that vent so i don't have to worry about it?

The left vent is almost right over my tubular EM, so that should help with venting the heat, and i don't think water getting in there would be a problem.

Ill try to get a pic up soon, if anyone would like a visual.

Yes, please post a pic. I have the VIS Extreme GT hood which also has a vent on either side, and I have never had anyproblems whatsoever. You could always cover the MAF if you want. And when you say cowl, do you actaully mean cowl, or reverse cowl? Post a pic.

Hmmm....maybe my definition of a cowl hood is wrong, idk, heres a pic to clear things up.

Thats the exact same hood I have, the Extreme GT hood. I have had it 2+ years, drove through heavy downpour, and have never had a problem with it. I never covered anything up at all.

I appreciate the info chico...i guess id only be worried about leaving the car stationary outside in a rain storm.

much appreciated though. :thumb:
