Couple of issues...1993 2.0 N/A Eclipse

I have a 1993 eclipse 2.0 dohc N/A. When i start the car and put it in reverse nothing happens until i pass neutral to drive, let it engage then into reverse and its fine. I got a code 12-Excessive Small TPS output (Source: Talon, Laser, Eclipse 1G Info DSM) could this affect it. The car has a brand new rebuilt tranny in it as well, but the torque convertor was not rebuilt. What could cause the blinker to not work. The hazards work but when i try to use the blinker it doesnt turn on, click or anything. Any suggestions would be great!! -Thanks --Heylookitsbret--

The turn signal problem sounds like the switch in the steering column is bad or broken it's right where the arm goes into the column
