Hey I had to replace my throwout bearing and I'm about to put it back together. What should I do before throwing it back together (clean bellhousing, grease things up, etc.).

Where should I grease as well. I would like all the things to do with descriptions as well (such as where to put the grease). I know that you do certain things before reinstallation but I haven't been able to locate specifics on where to put grease and things of that subject. This post is worded bad but I'm at work and I don't have a lot of time to write this so any help would be appreciated. ;)

Also I have an ACT 2600 clutch. Which side goes of the disc goes to the pressure plate and which to the flywheel. I don't want to put it on backwards then have to pull it again. :thumbdown

you should go buy a HAYnES Mitsubishi Eclipse manual; it will tell you where to grease and what to clean. The best 15 bucks you could ever spend;its saved me thousands in labor cost and its reliable.

assuming the flywheel is already bolted to the block............

get your clutch alignment tool and put the disc on the flywheel. then put the pressure plate on the flywheel. It can only go on one way and you cant mess it up.

Some do this next step, some dont, there are 3 little notches in the pressure plate fingers, line them up with the marks on the clutch disc. Torque the pressure plate bolts to about 16-18 ft lbs, use loctite if you're paranoid like me.

grease the output shaft on the transmission. Take out the pivot ball on the transmission with a 14mm deep socket and shim it with a lock washer. Install the clutch fork on the pivot ball, it can only go on one way.

I cleaned my transmission with engine degreaser. Go to napa and get new transmission seals cuz they are a huge PITA to replace with the tranny still in.

Ive done my clutch twice and my friends clutches 2 times each, so you can just call me Clutch King.
