Could you benifit for a 3.5'' MAF ?

Talked to the guys at Dejon Tool yesterday I am sending them a MAF sensor so they can have an inlet pipe that fits or will custom design one if need be, great guys. Also looking for a local (detroit area) 1st gen talon to hook this up on this weekend send me privat email to

Hey, Mike you guys thinking of making a some new pipes for the 3S too ? Dejon tools has great DSM prices ( I'm going to by one of there intake pipes for my 91' DSM after I put a new head on it ), and if they could make some pipes for us under $250 ( the cost on DN perfor. intake pipes ), then I'm sure they would be able to make a little on that.

90-99 3000GT closed loop, 3.5'' MAF, adaptor pipes. $200 ?
 
Sign me up! I have been having enough problems fiddling with the AFC that I'm about to lose my mind. If this product will automatically adjust the curve for 550's, my fingers will get fewer cramps from pushing buttons. Too bad I just purchased a 2g MAF and pipe, but I'm sure I can make my money back if this product lives up to it's expectations. Can't wait to see the test results.:dsm:
 
correct me if i'm wrong, but to the person who asked if we could vent to the atmostphere with this, i think the answer is still no. Doesn't the translator convert the hotwire signal into karman for the ecu to read. So the signal going to your afc would still be in karman, and the nifty little venting function wouldn't work. Am i far off here? Either way, this sounds like a great mod
 
No such thing as "karmen" speak. The DSM MAF sensor outputs a frequency. The GM sensor also output frequency just a different one.
The GM sensor can be set up as a blow through which the DSM unit can not. In this setup the surge valve can be vented to atmosphere

are you planning on this setup being used as a blow through MAS? if so, where do you think it should be put?
 
It can be used either way. I would put it somewhere in the upper intercooler pipe as a blow through. That is how mine is going to end up.

thanks for the replies. Sorry to keep bothering you about the same kinda question. If you decide to put it in your upper intercooler pipe, would you try to find a GM MAS that was closer to 2.5" or so? Does such a sensor even exist? I was thinking that if you don't already have an upper intercooler pipe, you could maybe put the sensor right in front of your throttle body, right behind the elbow, and then have someone make a custom pipe to fit it. I wasn't sure if having a 2.5 inch UIP and then a 3" or 3.5" section where the MAS was put in, would mess up flow or not. thanks for indulging my quandries. Keep up the good work, i can't wait to see this product get finished.
 
No we will use the 3" from the 95/96 Impala SS for blow through, that is what the Buick guys who run blow through with our unit use and it works great for them. Right now I am using the 3.5" unit from the LS1 in front of the turbo.
