they are the bolts that hold the driverside axle mount to the block. my bolts have rounded threads so i hope the holes in the block arent stripped. but if they are can some one give me a tip on how they did it? helicoil? hammer in threads? drill n tap. keep in mind the angles so i don thing a drill will fit :(. but ya i think the wrong bolts are in there they are way to long and have like 4 washers spacing it out.

Mine are that way too, but I have my AC compressor removed, so that is why I have the washers :) Are the threads rounded off in the block, or on the bolts. The block is pretty hard, so most likely the bolts are rounded. If your AC compressor is still installed, then the spacers should not be needed. they probably just grabbed some bolts that are close, but are not hard enough to hold in, so they rounded.

You need to fix that. When the A/C bracket is removed and not spaced properly it can damage the intermediate shaft. I'm not sure what size the bolts are but once you get those ones out it shouldn't be to hard to figure out what size you need. I have 4 or 5 washers on mine to replace the bracket. I guess I didn't get the spacing right the first time because when I did my manual rack I noticed one of those bolts had snapped. My intermediate shaft ended up needing replaced because it trashed the bearing.

The bolts are rounded off on the first like 7-8 threads so i went and got some grade 8 bolts that fit the same nuts as the ones out of the bracket ofcourse i cant remember the size ther were but they had good threads and they still come back loose with enough torqe :(j. i hope the last to dude to do this didnt use and impact gun on them or ima be pissed LOL but i should be able to get to them easy if i take off the intake n stuff and throw some helicoils in. but ya the wrong bolts were put in that i inherited so i just need to know what is supposed to be in there like size to try before i do that. t
,Thanks

If you can get access to a 90 degree drill that would help you to drill our those holes alot. Clearance can be a pain but with one of those 90's the head is only maybe 1.5inch wide but more with how ever long the bit is.

thats all i want to know i dont even know if there stripped yet the bolts that were in it when i got it arent the right ones. so inherently i cant say what is the correct bolt size.

So the correct amount of washers is 5? I am about to put mine in without the A/C bracket and want to make sure I put the right amount of washers, so I dont mess something up.

use urathane spacers or something idk. LOL i am looking for them the right width but i need to KNOW WHAT BOLT I NEED :) COMON MAN pls is it 2 1/2 by 18 im just making that up but ya bolt size still need it. :/

measure the depth of the hole and then buy a few random sized bolts around the size you found in there and see which on is the right thread! then when you figure that out you take what you learned about the depth and size/threadpitch and go buy the bolts you need to have. that is the simplest solution to your problem!!!!!!

obviously you know how thick the bolt needs to be so buy different thread pitches and find what pitch works!

did you get it figured out?? I assume so seeing as you did not post again. well hope all is good with your situation.

I have some washers removed and the bolt will bite just well enough so that i can put a decent amount of torqe on them but i am afraid to try to tighten them more i would like to be able to crank on them as hard as my arm will go with a normal wrench but i have been making sure it is tight every day. but i still dont know what Actual technical size its supposed to be since they arent the original bolts. but thanks for lookin out!! :)
