Will you be doing any of the labor yourself? Are you going oem? Whats your hp goal? Are you looking for a budget build or price is not a problem? People on here dont like to give bad info, so you might want to awnser these questions to have a more accurate awnser. just my .02
Do a search bro! I believe youll find trillons of setups that will give you an idea for what u want and need to know!i will not be doing any labor on the refurbishing of the block, however everything that goes back in the block (internals) i will be doing. also i will be stripping the block down... the only thing thing thats gunna get done is taking the empty block to a shop to have them refurbish it. price not an issue. hp goal somewhere around 450-500hp... i may look into making it into a stroker but thats a different topic. just need price on a empty block (no internals) refurbished. thanks
I dropped off a block last month at a shop for my galant vr4 (6bolt) and im at the simple price of 1200. Thats for .20 over, cleaned block, balanced internals, crank cleaned the refurbished and no head work. when all said and done, im looking at the price of 4500 for a complete motor. I could save about 900 if i decide to do it myself to put back together. Im not sure what im going to do yet, but I have the feeling that im going to be lazy and let someone else do the work and have a little of warrenty on it
Alot of Companies have good prices on built shortblocks with any piston, rod, stroker combo you want.Very close in price to building one,Plus they are ready to go.
.Build yours on the side,Budget rebuild. That way if you find another dsm that needs a motor you can get it.Thats the way I think though. Can't have just 1.
