Why are cams for these cars so expensive? I just can't see the outrageous cost of these things. I would love to put some 272s on my car but they're cost prohibitive.

DKS cams are regrinds to hks spec, they come in 272 or 280 and they are $300. I have a set sitting here that I paid $150 for, lightly used.

Also, how is this an expensive part when the rest of the rotating assembly in the block can cost 5-10 times as much as cams?

Theyre not bad. ffwd sells some cheap, delta isnt bad either. My Crowers were around 500. Theyre all around 500+ for a set. Shit, a good turbo set ya back 2000 or more.

Edit: Brian Crower cams are very cheap. If for some reason you want them.
